Hanging With the Creative Team of The Last Word - Part 1

Some of the latest and most fun news is I'm in preparations to work on the most coolest project! I'm working on a musical which will be presented in The New York Musical Theatre Festival. The current title of the piece is The Last Word. (Right now we are holding a competition to rename the musical. If you want to be a part of this awesome event, you can have a chance to put your stamp on our work. More details here.....Help re-name our NYMF show!!)

It's a musical set in the 1940s. The story follows two brothers who are musicians during the rise and fall of the jazz scene on Central Avenue in Los Angeles. It's loosely based on the biblical story of Cain and Able.

It's a new piece and a big project. I'm having a fantastic time working on the material and collaborating with the creative team.

The book is by writer, Josh Sohn. The music is composed by composer, Kevin Ray. With additional story by producer, Suellen Vance. It's a fabulous team and I'm honored to working with them.

Here is a little behind the scenes footage from the creative team of The Last Word.

RUINED wins award for Huntington Theatre production

RUINED is one of the recipients of the Elliot Norton Award which recognizes excellence in Boston Area theatre. It played a successful, as well as snowy, run at The Huntington Theatre earlier this year.

Congrats to the cast, crew, design and creative team! I have deep and treasured memories for that production and the process. I'm so proud to see RUINED being recognized by the Boston Theatre community.

Broadway by the Year at The Town Hall

Today and tonight I will be assisting Mark Stuart and The Mark Stuart Dance Theatre for their presentation at Broadway by the Year: Musicals of 1982. MSDT will be performing three pieces. "Taking a Chance on Love" from BLUES IN THE NIGHT, "Summer in the City" from ROCK 'N ROLL! The First 5,000 Years, and "Macavity" from CATS.

There is a great line up of performers on the bill. (During a rehearsal yesterday I got hear Karen Akers, Kerry O'Malley, Kevin Early, Kenita Miller and Barbara Walsh go through some of their music. Amazing!!!!)

I hope to see you at Town Hall!
