In The Red Brown Water

In rehearsals this week we have been on our feet, continuing the process of staging In The Red and Brown Water. We've been further establising relationships between characters and giving clarity to the text and story within a physical context. I’m enjoying the spontaneous and organic mode of staging our production with our extremely talented cast. If you'd like to see Columbia University School of the Arts' production of In The Red and Brown Water, you can find ticket information by clicking the image below. Performance dates are December 5 - December 8 at the Lenfest Center for the Arts. Here's a description of the play:

On a housing project in Louisiana lives Oya, a young girl, soon to be woman. Forgoing her dreams of a college education she finds herself increasingly trapped between the choices available to her. In the Red and Brown Water is Tarell Alvin McCraney’s highly-acclaimed modern retelling of Federico Garcia Lorca’s Yerma, that places a woman between familial duty and unfulfilled dreams.
